The Rotary Club of Albuquerque sends its condolences to the family & friends of RCA Rotarian Shirley Sinkey. She was born a farmer's daughter on January 25, 1936, in Cherokee, Iowa. Shirley moved to Albuquerque in 1960 with her husband and sons, Greg and Tim. After working 18 years for Xerox she retired in 1986 to begin a new career as the owner of Innovative Ideas and as a realtor for Scott Patrick Homes. Shirley loved the real estate world and became lifelong friends with many of her customers.

She was one of the first women business owners to become a member of the Albuquerque Downtown Rotary Club (RCA) in 1988. After 23 years of perfect attendance at Rotary she was granted honorary status when her health began to decline. 

Shirley was predeceased by her son Tim and her longtime special friend & RCA Rotarian Travis Zeleny. Shirley is survived by her son Greg Sinkey and his wife Sharon of Florida, granddaughter Megan Sinkey of Albuquerque and two great granddaughters. She is also survived by nephews Rob Butler and Brian Butler and their wives Chris and Debbie, all of Albuquerque, and niece Kendra Cook of Oklahoma.  
 
A celebration of Shirley's life will be held on Saturday, July 29, 2017, from 4-6 pm, at her nephew Rob B. home (13260 Twilight Trail Pl NE).
 
As Shirley specified, this event will be a party!
Shirley has requested that all guests wear her favorite colors, purple or pink!
